Fans of “The Flash” and “Arrow” are aware that when the two shows meet in the middle, DC magic happens. Wanting the magic to continue, CW President Mark Pedowitz announced during Thursday’s (May 14) network upfront event that the two shows will have a crossover event every year during their respective seasons.

“The crossover was so successful, we will be making it a special event in fourth quarter every year,” says Pedowitz.

The crossover this season took place over the span of two days and two episodes on Dec. 2 and 3 of 2014. The episodes, titled “Flash Vs. Arrow” and “The Brave and The Bold,” featured the two titular characters teaming up to take down the likes of Boomerang and Digger Harkness.

According to Pedowitz, the main crossover event won’t be the only one that fans will be able to look forward to. There will also be mini-crossovers — like those involving “The Flash” and “Arrow” from the 2014-15 season — which will also include the newest DC addition to the lineup, “Legends of Tomorrow.”

“DC’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ is part of the Flash/Arrow universe,” Pedowitz tells reporters on a conference call announcing the 2015-16 schedule. “Characters will criss-cross as needed and we’ll have big crossovers, as we can acquire them, at the right time.”

“Arrow” returns for Season 4 and “The Flash” for Season 2 this fall on The CW.
