It took three of our greatest heroes in the Flash, the Arrow and Firestorm to take down the Reverse Flash. But after a long and hard fought battle and a little help with some special-made arrows by Ray Palmer, our heroes subdued the Reverse Flash and locked him up inside the cells at S.T.A.R. Labs.
Now, Barry can finally ask the question he’s been meaning to ask Thawne for over 15 years: “Why did you kill my mother?”
Why would Thawne want to kill Nora Allen? Does he have some sort of personal hatred against Barry? If his intention was to kill Barry and return back to his original time by using the Speed Force, then, what does Nora Allen have to do with any of this? Also, why would have Thawne tried to recreate another explosion of the particle accelerator? If it explodes again, will we be given new heroes? Or will we be given new enemies? The particle accelerator is still active and could be used by the Reverse Flash to create himself some new allies to battle the Flash. It’s literally, at this point, a ticking time bomb!
However, one thing is for sure: Now that Barry has taken care of the Reverse Flash for the time being, he can focus on the task that he was born to do, save his mother and stop the framing of his father.
The only thing that will need to be done is to be able to tap into the Speed Force and successfully control himself in traveling back to that exact moment in time when his mother was surrounding by the Reverse Flash and the Flash, also known as Barry’s future self, during their original battle in the past. But if Barry can be successful at saving his mother, how will that drastically alter the future? As we know, cause a ripple in any frame of time and it could lead to dire consequences for your future. Could this be the case in Barry’s next mission?
There’s also something very recognizable in this season finale of The Flash. The future Barry that our Barry will encounter in his travels to the past is wearing the classic brighter red version of the suit along with the white logo. This is the classic Flash that the fans all grew up with and have been dying to see on the screen for quite some time. Maybe Barry can take some inspiration from meeting his future self and create himself that exact suit that’s been with the Flash since his earliest of days.
With so much riding on the line for Barry’s next task, what will become of those he’s close to? Will Joe and Iris still be as close to Barry as they are in the present? Is Iris still destined to be Barry’s future wife? Will Cisco and Caitlin still be working for S.T.A.R. Labs along with Ronnie before he became Firestorm? Will a Flash even exist in the new future? What would become of Barry’s parents if his mother were to stay alive and his father wouldn’t be in prison. This episode will raise more questions than answers. That’s for sure!
Along with all of this going on, it’s pretty certain that Eobard Thawne has something up his sleeve to still take down Barry and return to his time. What exactly will our evil speedster have up his sleeve to thwart Barry’s rescue mission? The Reverse Flash can always be counted on to find a way out of containment.
The future depends on everything that Barry is about to do. Can Barry outrun his past and change it to make things “right?” Is he fast enough to change time? And is the Reverse Flash actually defeated? Or will he find a way to make his threats known once again?
All of this will be answered and more on this epic season finale of The Flash this Tuesday at 8 p.m. on SFL-TV, the CW!
