Jason Derulo returned home to his native South Florida for a show at Hard Rock Live November 13th. He brought boundless energy, high-flying backup dancers and — yes ladies — his abs. The arena didn’t feel that warm but Derulo was quick to take off his shirt … more than once. Guess if you have abs like that why wear a shirt in the first place.
As for the music, Derulo played all the hits: opening with “In My Head” and closing with “Want To Want Me.” In-between was a catalogue of your favorite Jason Derulo tunes, solos from his squad of dancers and funky beats from his personal DJ Jae Murphy.
The show was jam-packed and non-stop and you could tell Derulo was excited to perform in his hometown. The only downside was that the audio mix was uneven; his vocals were a bit drowned out by the band. And while that may have bothered those of us who wanted to hear his vocal range, his legion of local fans certainly didn’t seem to mind.
