Case-in-point: Heidi Cruz. Did you hear what she said about husband Ted`s, now-defunct, campaign?
“Be full of faith, and be so full of joy that this team was chosen to fight a long battle. Think that slavery -- it took 25 years to defeat slavery. That is a lot longer than four years.”
She actually compared the Cruz campaign to the abolition of slavery! Awkward!
In other political news....
The Republican party`s a little divided. No surprise. There are those who support the presumptive nominee, and those who don`t.
House Speaker Paul Ryan isn`t ignoring Donald Trump, or the other elephant in the room, Ben Carson.
“We come from different wings of the party. The goal here is to unify the various wings of the party around common principles, so we can go forward unified. Ben Carson is just trying to provide a constructive role to help.”
What about Bernie “Never-Say-Quit” Sanders?
"We've won a big, big victory in West Virginia."
True enough. Hillary Clinton is still feeling the Bern`s popularity, despite continuing to lead in the number of delegates. Rather than focus on that, she`s looking ahead.
“I am, if I'm so fortunate enough to be the nominee, looking forward to debating Donald Trump come the fall.”
But wait! There`s more!
Vice president Joe Biden was on many people`s list to be the democratic nominee.
The timing just wasn`t right, after his son died from brain cancer. Biden now says he would have been the best candidate for the oval office. But since he`s not running, he predicts another Clinton will move in after the November election.
