TOMBALL, TX - Talk about seeing a sign!
Oh, this guy saw a sign, alright.
In fact, he got trapped inside this sign at a Chevy car dealership on Highway 249 and Highway 99.
"He was about 50 feet up...pretty small space...had a medical emergency and had to get him out," the Klein Fire Department's Shane Dawson said. "He couldn't come back down the way he went up."
The maintenance worker was overcome by the summer heat, and getting him out was no easy feat!
It took firefighters from Spring and Klein Fire Departments to help rescue the man, along with Cypress Creek EMT's, too.
"We had two medics who actually went up in the sign to help take care of the patient," Norm Uhl, Public Information Officer for Cypress Creek EMS, explained. "While they were working on figuring out how to get the patient out."
Authorities said the worker had to actually take off some clothes and drink water because the heat was so intense inside the sign, around 120 to 130 Degrees with no ventilation.
Crews had to cut a hole in the sign to get him out.
"They're pretty hot," Uhl remarked. "They need to cool down!"
Next time they see a sign, they'll remember this one!
