You probably saw the last concert you missed free of charge on Instagram or Snapchat but Apple is trying to put an end to the days of recording your favorite artists live then posting photos and videos online later.

The technology would detect an infrared signal and disable your phone camera.

"If I'm paying so much for my phone monthly, why are you restricting me from certain things," said Faith Olweny when asked about the patent.

"We're paying for the concert so we should be able to use the phone at the concert if we please," said frequent concert goer and recorder Kaiya Krikstan.

In some embodiment, a device may apply a watermark but that isn't the first we've heard of phone blocking tools for shows.

Dave Chapelle caused a buzz when the comedian used phone bags at his show from a company called Yondr makes cases handed out at the door of a concert that locks on you once you enter the 'phone-free zone.'
