Sucking and nail biting may be good for kid allergies

Parents are in a constant battle to stop bad behavior before it becomes a bad habit. Nail-biting and thumb-sucking are usually two big no-nos but leave it to a new study to find actual "benefits" to these "gross" adolescent addictions.

According to a new study published in the Journal Pediatrics children who suck their thumbs or bite their nails have a lower risk of developing long-term allergies.

As dirty as your kids might seem it turns out they're too clean!

New Zealand scientists studied one thousand children and found that kids with with these unclean finger habits had a thirty to forty percent reduction in their chances of developing allergies.

But beware, thumb-sucker-parents this habit has some expensive consequences. Have you seen the prices for braces these days?

Nail-biting is just plain gross. Kids put their hands on everything! But if your little one has allergy problems no need to drive to the pharmacy.
