PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico — Like a scene out of "The Sopranos," a group of armed men stormed a restaurant in the popular Mexican resort town of Puerto Vallarta and kidnapped the son of a Mexican drug lord and 15 others in a crime gang, according to a Mexican officials.

But the kidnappers didn't just grab any ole drug lord's son, they apparently captured the son of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.

"El Chapo" — or "Shorty" as he's also known — is an infamous drug lord who was busted last year after actor Sean Penn went south of the border for a visit.

Authorities recaptured El Chapo in January and then transferred him to a border prison in Juarez, Mexico last May. He is  awaiting extradition to the U.S.

And with dad all locked up, the drug lord's son, Ivan Archivaldo Guzman,  reportedly took control of the family business.

Mexican officials say they presume the kingpin's son was among those kidnapped.
