For stay at home moms, it's a struggle to secure a job interview when looking to go back into the workforce. And around 50 percent are unable to land jobs.

Best selling author, Samantha Ettus recently launched a business that gives this group of women an opportunity to kick-start their career again.

Park Place Payments is a business Samantha started for women and it's the first fintech company with a direct sales force comprised of women.

"Leaving the workforce is one of the most financially vulnerable things you can do. I noticed that so many, of them were selling Mary K or other makeup, skincare, clothing brands to their friends and most of them were not making real money. So I wondered why aren't any of these very capable women selling a financial services product that would actually help boost their resume and give them recurring revenue. So I created an all-women sales force in the payment processing industry," said Samantha Ettus, Park Place Payments, CEO & Founder.

Being surrounded by such great women, Samantha saw a struggle many women go through when returning to work. So she gives us tips to stay relevant in the workplace when taking time off.

"So what you want to be doing is keeping your network warm. You always want to leave your job on a high note, keep in touch with people, send them articles that made you think of them. There are so many ways to keep in touch. Then when you want to reach out later, it's not so obscure. The second tip is to never lead with 'I stay home with the kids.' When someone says to you, 'What do you do?' tell them of your life before your kids. You're a three dimensional person. Say something like, 'Right now I'm home with my kids and I was in marketing for five years. Suddenly, they're going to think of you as a marketing person so it's easier when you want to return to work. Then they think of you not only as a mom, but as a  mom who has had a career behind her. The next tip is to not let your relationship get off balance. You want to always be setting boundaries. Now that we are in the tech era, it used to be you could leave the office at five o'clock, come back to your office at 9am the next day and everything would be the same. Today, if you left the office at five o'clock  and you return the next day at 9am without checking your emails or phone, your industry may have changed and you may have been fired. It's no longer up to companies to set those boundaries we have to set our own boundaries. You have to be in charge of your schedule, you have to be putting things on the calendar in advance.  As soon as you get your kids school schedule, put an entire year in advance, so that you know your blackout dates", said Ettus.
